Egypt's insurance sector is rewriting itself in real time. We joined the AUC Venture Lab Insurtech Challenge as the technology partner — bringing the engineering lens to early-stage ideas and helping founders move from problem statement to working prototype in just 72 hours.
Three days. 15+ founder teams. Five mentoring partners. Every team shipped.
Day 01 — Define: Teams locked their problem statements and core features, with 1-on-1 mentoring from GIG Egypt and an FRA session on the regulatory landscape.
Day 02 — Build: RTG led a working session on mapping user journeys to shippable components — followed by sprint blocks and another round of V-Lab + GIG mentoring.
Day 03 — Pitch: Pitch coaching with Seif Hakim, a founder's-story session, final FRA + Orient mentoring, and the last build sprint before demo day.
The challenge closed with a panel on what it takes to scale insurance technology locally — alongside AUC Venture Lab, FRA Sandbox, AXA, GIG Egypt, and GIG Life Takaful. RTG's CBO, Islam Abdelraouf, joined the panel representing the technology side of the ecosystem.
